Location
The site is located in the village of Walliswood, in the heart of the Surrey Hills, ideally situated for expeditions in and around Leith Hill
The site itself is in the centre of the village and has a well maintained flat grassy field, secluded by a high perimeter hedge. At about 150m square, the site offers considerable space for large groups of participants to camp and allow for a degree of separation from their leaders.
The site is booked on a sole occupancy basis, ensuring that potential issues of unruly fellow campers is never a problem, giving leaders and students peace of mind that there won’t be disturbed nights when other groups on nearby pitches may not adhere to campsite etiquette after dark.
Walliswood is a small quiet hamlet nestled between Ewhurst, Horsham and Dorking with local villages offering circular routes with tried and tested route planning options. Locally, the Sussex border path runs just to the south, to the west you'll find the Downs Link bridleway, whilst a host of local footpaths and bridleways cross the area.
Walkable distances are possible for those expeditions using public transport, including train station start and end points such as Holmwood (Beare Green), Ockley, Warnham on the commuter lines or Abinger and Chilworth stations on the east/west lines.
